Our Standards

Claims we can evidence, in plain English.

Material marketing is full of words that mean very little. This page sets out exactly how we assess a material before we supply it, and what we will show you on request.

Our commitment

We only make environmental claims we can evidence. Where a claim applies, we will tell you exactly what it is and show you the supporting documentation.

Check 01

What it is made from

We ask for the actual composition: the feedstock, the proportion that is recycled or bio-based, and how that proportion is measured. If a supplier cannot tell us, we say so.

Check 02

What it replaces

Every material we list is an alternative to something specific. We record what it replaces and where it performs differently, so you know what you are trading.

Check 03

End-of-life options

We record what can realistically happen to the material after use in the UK, not what is theoretically possible somewhere else. Where recycling routes are limited, we say that plainly.

Check 04

What documentation backs it up

Safety data sheets, technical data sheets, certifications and test results. If a claim has no document behind it, it does not go on the site.

Language we avoid

Specific and checkable, or not said at all.

You will not see us describe a product as simply eco friendly or sustainable. On their own, those words tell a buyer nothing and cannot be checked.

Instead we state the measurable thing: the recycled content, the VOC level, the certification held, the test carried out. If we cannot put a number or a document to it, we describe the limitation rather than dress it up.
